💥 Your Impact
Your role will play a major role in our success because…
You will own the Company Health stream: protecting and growing the health of existing markets while scaling the business by maximising customer retention and long-term customer success.
Your work sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Customer Success, and Sales, with a clear mission: make Coverflex indispensable for companies after they sign - through better admin workflows, clearer value realisation, proactive retention levers, and scalable market completeness patterns.
How we’ll measure success:
After 6 months, you will have:
- A deep understanding of our customers, their lifecycle, and the key drivers of client health, satisfaction, and retention in our core markets.
- A strong feedback loop (customers + internal signals + data) that consistently drives prioritisation.
- A clear Company Health strategy and prioritised roadmap, aligned with measurable outcomes.
- Shipped improvements that move leading indicators of retention (activation/adoption/time-to-value, admin satisfaction, product usage, preventable churn reasons, etc.).
- Contributed to raising the bar for product thinking and collaboration within the team, helping foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
⚡ Reality Check - What Makes This Role Hard
Let’s be real - here’s what makes this role challenging:
- You are optimising a multi-persona journey: the company is the buyer, but employees drive real value.
- “Retention” is not one thing. It’s onboarding, activation, time-to-value, trust, operational efficiency, compliance, and product reliability.
- You will constantly need to balance market-specific needs with the expectation to build scalable and global solutions, not one-offs.
- You will work across multiple teams and inputs (support signals, CS feedback, sales context, data and competing business/market goals) and still need to keep priorities crisp.
👤 You
Must-haves (evidence, not years)
• Proven experience as a Product Manager in high-growth startups or scale-ups, owning problems end-to-end (from discovery to outcomes)
• Strong discovery and problem-framing skills, and comfortable operating in ambiguity
• Proven ability to define strategy, align stakeholders, and ship iteratively with measurable outcomes
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform product decisions
• Strong async/remote collaboration habits: clear written communication, disciplined documentation, and consistent rituals
• Experience in B2B SaaS environments (or similarly complex workflows)
Nice-to-have
Fintech / Payments experience or other regulated domains
Experience working across multiple geographies and compliance requirements
Familiarity with retention levers across the lifecycle (renewals, churn prevention, value realisation, product-led enablement)
🧬 Your DNA
You consistently demonstrate empathy towards users and stakeholders and remain dedicated to solving problems and finding solutions.
You have a curious mind and a passion for innovation.
You strongly believe in building products alongside users, rather than solely for them, and actively seek out feedback.
You are outcome-oriented: you hold a high bar for clarity (the “why” and the goal), move iteratively, and learn fast from what ships.
You simplify complexity, spot second-order effects early, and avoid one-offs in favour of scalable patterns.
You communicate clearly, bringing crisp narratives and decision-making, especially in ambiguity.
You are a strong cross-functional collaborator: you create alignment, bring others along, and handle disagreement with high trust and directness.
And you raise the bar around you, influence teams beyond your squad, mentor others, and help improve product thinking across the organisation.
You’ll probably find this frustrating if…
You prefer working in a narrow scope without continuous cross-functional collaboration.
You avoid talking directly with customers or internal stakeholders to gather insights and validate assumptions.
You optimise for “perfect information” before moving, or swing to speed while ignoring long-term fragmentation risks.
You’re uncomfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and constraint-driven problem-solving.
You default to “this is a different team’s problem” instead of owning outcomes end-to-end.

Hiring Manager: Joana Botelho
Location: Portugal
LinkedIn Profile: [LinkedIn URL]
Profile Snapshot:
I’m pragmatic, honest, and empathetic. I care a lot about doing right by our users, the team, and what’s best for the company. I value integrity and transparency. Joana, the person, is very simple and “by the book”: I love music, movies, reading, dancing, food, travelling and spending time with my friends and family.
Energy:I try to stay positive and in solution-mode as much as possible, despite being the one raising all possible problems in a product review 🙄 Think “thoughtful challenger”: I ask questions, push for clarity, avoid unnecessary complexity, and try to surface second-order effects early.
Communication: transparent, informal and context-heavy. Sometimes (often), more verbose than ideal 🙈 I do my best to share knowledge and provide context to make sure everyone has what they need to make the best decisions and move independently. I value crisp narratives, explicit trade-offs, and strong documentation
Feedback Style: transparent, continuous, always aimed at growth. I’m supportive, but I will challenge reasoning, prioritisation, and clarity when needed. I try to give feedback that is actionable and fair. And I value constructive challenge in return! I’m also actively improving 🌱
How to work with me - in the Manager's own words:
I'm very annoying about the “why”. I care about good product thinking and solving the right problems. I believe in ownership end-to-end: clear scope and outcomes, high-quality delivery, clear communication, and measurement after launch. I try to stay close enough to remove blockers, sharpen decisions, and keep alignment when needed, but the ownership is yours. And I’m still learning too, so we’ll iterate together.
